Frequently asked questions
What happens when my trial ends?
Your account becomes read-only. You can still view past verification results and download any certificates you generated during the trial. To verify new briefs, choose a plan. No data is deleted.
Do I need a credit card to start the trial?
No. Sign up with your name and email — that is it. We only ask for payment information when you choose a paid plan after the trial.
What counts as one filing on the Per Filing plan?
A single PDF or DOCX document — typically a motion, brief, or memo. We extract every citation we find in the file and verify each one. One document = one filing.
Which databases do you verify against?
Today: CourtListener, the largest free legal database covering all federal courts, plus state citations (CA, NY, TX, FL, IL) where CourtListener has records. Coming soon: Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, and Google Scholar. All plans get access to every database as integrations go live — no tier-gating on coverage.
Can I switch plans after subscribing?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
What about the free citation lookup on the homepage?
The homepage lookup (2 citations per day, no account needed) remains available to everyone. It is a quick check for individual citations. The trial and paid plans are for full-brief verification with certificates.
